MELODY FIGHT

MAKE YOUR OWN MUSIC QUIZ

PICK THE SONGS, SHARE ONE LINK, PLAY TOGETHER

Free. Sign in with Google to build a set; players join without an account.

Pick the songs yourself: a set for a birthday, for fans of one band, for a class or for the office party. You build it from the Melody Fight catalogue, keep it under your account and start a game from it whenever you like. Friends join from their own phones with a link or QR code and play it as Guess the Artist, Decade Dash or the Song Year Quiz.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR QUIZ

  1. Sign in with Google and open My sets.
  2. Choose a public nickname and give the set a name.
  3. Search the catalogue by title or artist and add songs. Songs without a playable preview cannot be added.
  4. Once the set has 20 songs, tap Play, or pick it in the lobby under My sets.
  5. Choose a mode, share the invite link or QR code, and start.

WHAT TO KNOW

  • Up to 5 sets per account and 100 songs per set; a game needs at least 20 songs in the set.
  • In Guess the Artist the wrong options are other artists from your set, as long as it has at least four.
  • You can rename or delete a set at any time, and only you can change it.
  • Other players see a public set's name, your nickname and the number of songs, but not the song list and never your e-mail.

IDEAS FOR A SET

  • A birthday quiz with the songs the guest of honour loves.
  • One decade or one genre for a themed party.
  • The songs from a music lesson, as a quiz for the class.
  • The office party playlist, turned into a quiz.

NO SET OF YOUR OWN? PLAY SOMEONE ELSE'S

Under "Explore custom sets" in the lobby you find the public sets of other players, newest first, next to more than 30 ready-made sets by genre, decade and country. Anyone can play them, with or without an account.

FAST AND STABLE, WHEREVER YOU PLAY

  • Every game runs in its own room on a global server network, in a data centre near where the game was started.
  • Each room handles only its own game, so many games can run at the same time without slowing each other down.
  • While you answer, every phone already loads the next song, so the next round starts without waiting for downloads.
  • A slow connection holds up the next round by 10 seconds at most; after that the round starts anyway.
  • The room keeps the clock and the score: if a phone loses signal, the game goes on, and the player returns to the current round.

FAQ

Can I add any song I want?
You pick from the Melody Fight catalogue of about 27,000 tracks by 7,000 artists. Songs from outside it, for example from a Spotify or YouTube playlist, cannot be added.
Do my friends need an account?
No. Only the person who builds the set signs in. Everyone else joins with the link or QR code and types a name.
Who can see my set?
Once it has 20 songs it is public: it appears under "Explore custom sets" with its name, your nickname and the number of songs, and anyone can play it. Nobody else sees the song list, and only you can change the set.
Can I play my set alone?
Yes: start a game and play it as the only player. The ranked solo quiz with the ladder uses only the Easy, Hard and Hell pools.
Is it free?
Yes. No ads and no paid plan. A Google account is needed only to save your own sets.
