Melody Fight is a free online music quiz. With friends: one person creates a room, up to 20 people join by scanning the QR code or opening the link, each on their own phone. A 30-second song preview plays and everyone answers at the same time. Solo: Guess the Artist in 10 songs against the clock, and your score goes on the public solo ladder. No signup, no app to install, no ads. A round takes about 40 seconds, so a five-round game fits in a coffee break.
Three levels, Easy, Hard and Hell (deep cuts for real music fans), and music styles you can mix, more than 30 song sets in all: rock, hard rock and metal, alternative, pop, hip-hop, R&B and soul, dance and electronic, disco, jazz, country, soundtracks, the Rolling Stone 500 and Pitchfork lists, Christmas songs and Polish hits. About 27,000 tracks by 7,000 artists in total. Or make your own music quiz: sign in, build a set of 20 to 100 songs from the catalogue and play it with friends, who join without an account. Public sets by other players are under Custom sets when you create a room.
Every room runs on a global server network, in a data centre near where it was started, so many games run at once without slowing each other down. While you answer, every phone already loads the next song, and a slow connection delays the next round by 10 seconds at most. The room keeps the clock and the score: if a phone loses signal, the game goes on.
